Short Hair Style Workshop: Rinsed Twist Out/Braid Out

One of the biggest complaints I see of newly naturals with short hair is styling options.  Whenever my hair was short, I never let it hinder me from doing the styles I loved on longer hair.  One style that I really loved was the rinsed twist style.  I did this hairstyle several times when I first big chopped in 2006.

The Process:

Take braids or twists out. These are size of the ones I used at the time:

This is how it looked when I took them down:

I put conditioner on my hair very gently and I tried my best to not disturb the twist pattern.  Next, I rinsed my hair in the sink and I tried my best to not disturb the pattern.  I then blotted my hair dry.

As it dried the twist out that I didn't like too much began to shrink and form this style you see below which I loved so much!!!!:

Take Care!

  2. This is similar to the shrunken fro I used to do. Same concept except I just let steam from the shower hit it.

    Very nice.

  4. I've been tempted to try this again, now that my hair is longer. I'm a bit nervous about possible knotting on the ends, though. Wish me luck!
